Retreat Overview

OPENING RETREAT DAY ONE

  • 2:00pm-3:00pm: Participants arrive or are dropped off at our base camp, known as "The Property"
  • 3:00pm: Welcome and Introduction
  • 3:30pm: Packing and trail preparation with your hiking group (hikers are fitted for packs, distribute group equipment and food, learn about trail etiquette and pack their packs together)
  • 5:00pm: Free Time (Hikers enjoy our various lawn games, "Gaga Ball", four square, basketball, volleyball or porch rocking chairs.
  • 6:30pm: Dinner
  • 7:30pm: Worship
  • 8:30pm: Devotion and communion at our outdoor chapel
  • 10:30pm: Lights Out*

HIKING DAY 1

  • 6:00am: Wake Up
  • 7:00am: Breakfast (after backpacks are loaded up)
  • 7:30am: Hit the Trail! Enjoy 4 days of hiking and fellowship, and 4 nights of meals and devotions shared around campfires.

GIT BACK DAY SCHEDULE (After completing the hike)

  • 8:00am-10:00am: Hiking groups are picked up and returned to the property.  Once they have returned their equipment, they are free to take a much needed shower and enjoy delicious cinnamon buns! 
  • 11:00: Hiking groups from different churches gather to share stories and highlights from the week.
  • 12:30pm: Lunch! 
  • 1:30pm-2:30pm: Free Time, during which hiking groups may meet to award t-shirts, photos, and put finishing touches on their group name, flag, and skit representing their week. 
  • 2:30pm: Wiffle Ball and Funtivities at our infamous Weaver Field of Dreams
  • 4:00pm-5:15pm: More free time or last minute skit preparations
  • 5:15pm: Group Flags and skits, Trail Blazer Club (for those with 4 summer hikes with W.T.) and W.T. Museum Inductions 
  • 6:30pm: Dinner
  • 7:30pm: Worship
  • 8:00pm: 5th Night Closing Campfire (worship continues in hiking groups)
  • 9:00pm: Worship concludes at the Outdoor Chapel 
  • 10:30pm: Lights Out!

The next morning groups head for home by 9 am, after a continental breakfast.

*Participants sleep in wooden shelters during retreat at base camp. It is suggested that adults or those with trouble sleeping bring an air-mattress or extra padding for nights at the Property.
