  • Open fires only in existing fire rings.  Observe burning bans during dry conditions.  Extinguish before leaving.

  • No swimming in any of the ponds.

  • No use of the "Group Building Course" without Staff supervision.

  • Pets only with prior approval.  (No pets are allowed during Wilderness Trail Events.)

  • If using the lodge, refer to the instructions below.  They are also posted inside the Lodge, near the kitchen.

When You Arrive at the Lodge...

  1. Unlock doors as needed.

  2. Sign in on log sheet (located on the wall near the kitchen).

  3. Turn on water heaters as needed (kitchen, boys' bathroom, girls' bathroom).  The breakers are located in the main distribution panel in the left rear corner of the lodge (wooden door with an A-frame "roof" on it).  They are labeled on the panel (A, B, C).

  4. Turn on the ice machine if needed.  The switch is on the back of the machine; it looks like a wall light switch.

  5. If you encounter any problems, call Steve Holland (336-788-6214) or Mary Brown (828-734-0355).

When You Leave the Lodge...

  1. Turn off the ice machine.  The switch is on the back of the machine.  Unused ice may be left in the bin.

  2. Turn off the water heaters (A, B, C).  The breakers are located in the main distribution panel in the left rear corner of the lodge.

  3. Clean the lodge as needed (bathrooms, kitchen, etc.).  Remove any perishable items from the refrigerator and elsewhere.  DO NOT leave any food.  Collect all trash.  Take the trash to the dump on Hwy. 603 (left out of the property; about 1/10 mile on left) if possible.  If the dump is closed, secure all trash bags and leave them inside the lodge near the door.

  4. Store all rocking chairs inside.

  5. Sign out on log sheet.

  6. Turn off all lights.  Lock all doors.  Lock the gate.
