Possible Summer Event Hiking Day Schedule

This is a general example of what a day on trail looks like.

The actual schedule will vary depending on the hikers and Staff in your group.

"Staff" refers to the college-age Summer Staff who is leading the particular group.

Times are intentionally hidden since we ask hikers to leave their watches at base camp.

Although devotion times are only scheduled in the morning and evening,

we expect and encourage discussion, prayer, and Scripture throughout the day.

Early!  :) Staff wakes up the group to break down tents and pack up.
Breakfast time

The group eats breakfast together.

Quiet Time led by the Staff.

Hiking!  Individuals travel at their own pace between a "point" person in the front and a "sweep" person at back.  The group stops periodically for snacks or to enjoy a nice view.

Lunchtime

The group stops to have lunch together, sharing peanut butter, honey, crackers, and more.

Hiking again!

Afternoon

The group arrives at camp.  Hikers set up tents, play, rest, gather firewood, and/or help pump water.

Dinnertime The Staff prepares a meal for the group and they all eat together.
Evening The group gathers for campfire.  They sing together, share "Little Foxes" and "Holy Ground" from the day, and the Staff leads a devotion - usually around the Summer's theme.
Then to the tents for a good night's sleep!
