From I-81 in Virginia
- Get off on Exit 35; this will be the first exit for Chilhowie going South, and the second exit for Chilhowie going North
- Once off the exit, you want to take a right from I-81N and a left from I-81S- this road is "White Top Road". Follow this road - it will change names, but don't worry
- Continue through a yellow blinking light (this will be about 10 minutes from 81)
- Continue on the same road up and over a steep climb with a pretty view on your left
- Follow the road down the hill and into a wooded area
- When you start seeing houses again, the next turn is coming up
- Take a left onto "Laurel Valley Road," also called 603 (This turn is about 11 miles from I-81, and will be just before two stores on your left: Weaver's Grocery and the bright blue Laurel Valley Cafe)
- The Wilderness Trail sign will be on your left in about .2 mile; head on up to our lodge!
From Boone, NC
- Take 421 about 23 miles north to Mountain City
- Take a right on 91 in Mountain City
- Drive about 11 miles or so (should take you about 20-30 minutes, the roads are windy)
- Just before you reach Damascus, take a right on Hwy 58
- (at this point 91 bears left and you’ll shortly enter the small town of Damascus if you miss 58)
- After about 9 miles on 58, you'll see 58 turn off to the right -
- continue on the main road ("Konnarock Road") for 2-3 more miles
- Bear left to stay on the main road and go past 2 small stores on your right, the first of which is bright blue
- Take the next right onto 603 ("Laurel Valley Road")
- Our sign (gray rock looking) will be on your left shortly (about .2 mile)
- Drive on up to our lodge!
