College Hike
September 2-5, 2011
Part and Parcel of the Labor Day Weekend Event
PAST COLLEGE HIKE PHOTOGRAPHY | INFORMED CONSENT Gentlemen and gentlewomen, here is a chance to prepare for your semester in fellowship with God and friends on the mountainside. Don’t rush headlong into the school year without pausing in the beauty of the wilderness to reconnect to the Creator and the ongoing work of creation.
College friends, it is once again time to kick city life to the curb and hit the woods for some serious routine-cracking, boredom-lacking, back-packing fun. Come to the Property on Friday September 2nd, hang out/do worship there that night, and then spend the next 2 days backpacking about 15 -20 miles along the Appalachian Trail through the Grayson Highlands, some particularly beautiful creation if I may say so myself.
THUMP THUMP THUMP THUMPITTY THUMP goes your heart in your chest as you pass out from excitement upon reading above event description!!!
BZZZZZZZZTTTT CLEAR!!! I cheekily proclaim as I defibrillate you back to life!
Now some of you might be thinking to yourselves "OH SNAP MUFFINS!!! I've never backpacked before!!!!" Never fear college student, Wilderness Trail has all the equipment that you could possibly desire and no prior backpacking experience is necessary or expected.
SICK NASTY!!! you cry out (alarming those around you), but how can I partake in this cornucopia of fun?
"Well..." I respond as I drop my voice to a low whisper which serves to simultaneously increase suspense and draw the Internet user in closer with bated breath "you can go to this website to get a registration form!!" I pronounce with a mysterious twinkle in my eye, which ultimately has no hidden meaning or further relevance!!
The form shall appear in this very location on Wednesday, August 17. In the words of Tom Petty, "The waiting is the hardest part."
The price (TBD) will be around $50-60 per person but I KNOW everyone is gonna be babysitting like a fiend this summer so that shouldn't be a problem (look for families with triplets, 3X the dough!!!!).
Questions? Drop em to danbaker@wtrail.com
We're college students, we behave like animals, why not get back to our wilderness habitat? See you all in the woods this Labor Day Weekend.
